CS420 Natural Language Processing is a core course of the MSc Artificial Intelligence, taught by Dr. Kenji Tanaka. Students build tokenisers, train and fine-tune language models, study retrieval-augmented generation, and critically evaluate model behaviour across languages.
The course runs in Spring 2027 and is worth 10 credits. It meets Tue 13:00–16:00, Hargrove Hall 412. Assessment is by a research project presented in May 2027.
